The highly-anticipated remix of Adane Best’s timeless hit track “Ayitey” with Black Sherif, is still awaiting its birth, with renowned highlife maestro Adane Best shedding light on the reasons behind the delay.

The remix’s recording has been postponed due to the demanding schedule of rising star Black Sherif, which has posed challenges to their collaborative efforts.

In an insightful interview with Graphic Showbiz, Adane Best openly discussed the inspiration that fueled the need for the creation of the remix and the rationale behind his choice to collaborate with Black Sherif, a rapidly emerging artist.

“Black Sherif will do well on the Ayitey remix. After winning VGMA Artiste of the Year, he performed Ayitey and I saw it trending everywhere. I have reached out to him but I guess he is busy at the moment. But at the right time, we will hit the studio and make it happen.”

The introduction of Black Sherif into the mix transpired during the memorable moment when the reigning VGMA Artiste of the Year, Black Sherif himself, showcased his talent by performing “Ayitey” on stage while accepting the esteemed VGMA Artiste of the Year award in May.

Adane Best, an esteemed figure in the highlife genre, has left an indelible mark with a string of iconic hits such as “Gyata Bi,” “Mafio,” “Dromo,” “Bie Shoo,” “Yoo, Dompe,” “Tie Memu Nsem,” “Suumo,” “Femo Dil,” “Abusun,” and “Rabbi,” among numerous others.
