In a recent interview, Black Sherif stated that he was not disappointed that he did not win Album of the Year at the just ended Vodafone Ghana Music Awards. Instead, he was more focused on simply being mentioned in the nominations. As he put it, “I wasn’t necessarily disappointed that I didn’t win, but I was waiting for my name to be mentioned.”

This viewpoint is both refreshing and enlightening. While receiving an award is an honor, it is equally vital to recognize that the acknowledgment itself is valuable. Being nominated for such a prestigious prize demonstrates the quality and significance of one’s work and can help draw notice to an artist’s music and message.

This recognition is extremely valuable to Blacko. Being nominated for Album of the Year is a confirmation of his hard work and dedication to his craft for a musician who values honesty and keeping true to oneself. It serves as a reminder that his music is reaching out to people and having an impact in the industry.

King Promise’s album, the “5 Stars Album,” was awarded the Album of the Year, beating out Black Sherif’s “The Villain i Never Was” album.

At the recently concluded Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, Black Sherif emerged as one of the biggest winners. He took home several awards including Hip Hop Song of the Year, Best Music Video of the Year, Vodafone Most Popular Song of the Year, and the coveted Artist of the Year award.
