Alan Kyerematen, an Independent Presidential Candidate and leader of the Alliance for Revolutionary Change, has visited Hopeson Adorye who is currently in custody at the Ministries Police Station.

Adorye was apprehended on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, on allegations of admitting to detonating a dynamite in the Volta Region during the 2016 general elections.

Former Member of Parliament for Adentan, Yaw Buaben Asamoa, criticized the arrest as politically motivated.

Kyerematen was accompanied by Boniface Abubakari Saddique, Yaw Buabeng Asamoah, Kofi Kapito, Alhaji Haruna Tafsiru Warlord, Ken Kuranchie, and other members of the Movement for Change.

Following the visit, Buaben Asamoa refuted the allegations against Adorye, deeming them false and unjust. He criticized the prolonged detention of Hopeson, suggesting political motives behind it.

Hopeson’s arrest followed an interview he gave to Accra FM on May 10, where he claimed involvement in detonating a dynamite in the Volta Region to influence voters in favor of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
