Trainees from the public Colleges of Education are embarking on a peaceful demonstration in solidarity with demands of tutors of the colleges.
The tutors are demanding that government increase their salaries following the College of Education’s migration to University status.
The tutors who have been on a sit-down strike for the past three weeks, were today joined by trainees as a result of a request from the Teacher Training Association of Ghana for their support.
Speaking with beachfmonline.com, some of the trainees who joined their tutors to embark on the demonstration expressed worry about the fact that lectures have been non-existent for the past three weeks.
This, according to them is putting their futures at risk, and they are therefore pleading with the government to meet the demands of the tutors.
