Roads In The Region Still Undeveloped, Despite Contribution Towards National Development – Paramount Chief

The Paramount Chief of Nsein Traditional Area, Nana Awulae Kwame Agyefi, says he is concerned about the development and welfare of the Western Region.

Addressing journalists in the region, the traditional leader lamented that the region has been neglected for far too long and that it is time to speak out and demand a fair share of the national cake.

He observed that people in the region have had to endure accessing bad roads, even though the nation benefits from the resources deposited in the region.

‘We are endowed with oil and gas, which should aid the development of the region, but there is nothing to show for it. Our roads are in a terrible state, and I am speaking as a chief in the region and not as a politician. The government of the day has disappointed us.

I want to ask the politicians if they are going to ply the bad roads during the electioneering year. Are we progressing or retrogressing as a country?”

Nana Awulae Agyefi said that despite the region’s contribution to national development, the region is lagging behind in terms of development.

Nana Awulae Agyefi called on chiefs and people in the region to stand up and fight for the betterment of the region.

He said, “Anyone who speaks the truth regardless of the party colors will know that the roads in the region are bad. Over the years, our regional minister has consistently told us that the roads have been awarded to contractors. It’s about time; we ask when the contractors will come to start work on the roads.”

“I am telling the youth and chiefs to rise up for the good of the region.”
