Four bodies were found at a farm believed to be owned by the Kenyan military, sparking anger among locals.

The victims, young men allegedly trespassing to gather leftover maize near a Kenya Defence Forces barracks in Uasin Gishu county, were reportedly caught and fatally beaten by the farm’s guards on Saturday night.

Some of the bodies displayed gunshot wounds.

Additionally, four other intruders are receiving medical care for injuries, including gunshot wounds and bruises, at a local hospital.

Residents voiced outrage, stating that instead of resorting to lethal force, the guards should have apprehended the young men.

According to locals, the victims were struggling financially and collecting maize leftovers as a means of survival.

One police official mentioned that investigations into the killings were ongoing, while the Kenya Defence Forces has refrained from commenting on the incident.
