GETFUND Delivers 1,500 Hundred Dual Desks To STMA To Aid Teaching And Learning In Schools

The Ghana Education Trust Fund, GETFUND has delivered one thousand, five hundred dual desks to the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly, STMA for onward distribution to basic schools within the Metropolis.

The distribution which started already in the offing is to aid teaching and learning and ensure the comfortability of the pupils.

The Sekondi-Takoradi Metro Director of Education, Sally Nelly Coleman after receiving the items said not all basic schools within the Metropolis will receive the dual desk but schools that are in dire need will be the beneficiaries.

According to her, they have already conducted needs assessments and only schools that mostly need them will be given.

She said it will be distributed per the assessments her outfit has done to determine how many tach schools will receive.

She added that newly constructed schools within the Metropolis will be considered first as they have no furniture.

The Mayor for STMA, Abdul Mummin Issah said the dual desks will go a long way in helping the schools and also promote teaching and learning.

He said the desks will have an impact on improving the learning environment at the various schools even as it enhance teaching in the various schools. Mr Mumin further noted that the donation will also improve the participation of students during lessons.
