TTU, Focus 1 Media Sign 5-Year MoU to Enhance Training, Research Opportunities

Takoradi Technical University and Focus 1 Media have signed a Memorandum of Understanding for academic cooperation to ensure continuous learning amongst tertiary students.

The Memorandum was signed by the Vice-Chancellor of TTU, John Frank Eshun, Management of Focus 1 Media, and other partners on Wednesday, April 10, 2024.

This MoU calls for cooperation between academia and the media in training, research, internships, and other opportunities for students to enhance their educational capacities.

Vice-Chancellor Frank Eshun says the MoU forms part of the mandate of the university to collaborate with professional bodies and business enterprises to help build students’ capacity.

Speaking on behalf of FOCUS 1, the Human Resource Manager, Madam Portia Boakye, expressed excitement about the MoU and pledged commitment to helping to shape and nurture the human capabilities of students in contributing to social and national issues.

Mr. Frank Eshun opined, “Our mandate is to collaborate with professional bodies and business enterprises, to be able to help in the training of our students, so I think this MoU is giving effects to what is in our mandate, and the students stand to benefit in terms of industrial attachment, and other research work that they want to do.

We are doing this with Focus One Media, and other media organisations. For a start, we’re doing two years, and then if it goes on we’ll extend it to more years.”

We have similar deals with other non-media houses too such as the CorpNation Foundation.”

The 5-year MoU will run from the date of its signing by both parties and shall remain in focus for two years.

Both institutions are committed to working together in good faith to see the fruition of the agreed terms.
