“I’m the only one who can protect the Ahanta West seat” -John Agyare pledges to safeguard parliamentary seat

John Agyare has set his sights on the Ahanta West seat as he appeared before the New Patriotic Party's Western Regional vetting committee.

John Agyare, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ahanta West Municipal Assembly, has set his sights on the Ahanta West parliamentary seat and on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, appeared before the New Patriotic Party‘s Western Regional vetting committee.

The vetting, held at the Kingstel Hotel in Takoradi, marked a crucial step in Mr. Agyare’s journey toward contesting the parliamentary seat.

In an interview with Beach FM after the vetting process, Mr Agyare articulated his singular motivation for entering the race, stating, “the reason why I’m contesting is just one thing – we have the Ahanta West seat to protect, and I’m the only one who has the urge and can protect the seat from going to our opponents.”

As he moves forward in the political arena, John Agyare offered advice to his followers and party members in the Ahanta West constituency in preparation for the January 27 primaries.

“What I will tell my people is that they should be very careful going into the campaigning period. This shouldn’t be a campaign of insults…this is a family affair. We should all play a fair game and be ready for our opponents in December 2024.”

The race for the Ahanta West parliamentary seat intensifies, promising an interesting and competitive race between four (4) contenders -John Agyare (Ahanta West MCE), Francis Eric Pobee (Regional Patron), Benedict Appau (2nd Vice Chairman), and John Kwesi Yankey.
