A report from the National Development Planning Commission shows that 2 Assemblies out of 14 Municipal, Metropolitan, and District Assemblies (MMDAs) in the Western Region have so far submitted their Medium Term Development Plans (MTDPs) for the year 2022 – 2025.

According to the report signed by the Director, Development Coordination Division, Jonathan Azasoo, the Commission has reviewed the draft District, Medium-Term Development Plans(DMTDPs) submitted by MMDAs.

It could be observed from the report that 51 DMTDPs out of the 261 MMDAs have met the minimum standard for a working plan, therefore have been approved for certification.

The 51 MMDAs are to finalise their respective plans, by ensuring the contents in the documents are properly formatted and are in conformity with the structure defined in the planning guidelines.

However, MMDAs with approved plans are expected to submit finalised versions of the BMTDPs by Monday, July 11, 2022, for certification and publication on the Commission website.

Meanwhile, some 58 MMDAs have outstanding comments to be addressed in their revised DMTDPs before approval can be given for certification.

The report states, ” MMDAs with outstanding comments are on condition that the plans meet the minimum working standards.”

More so, all other MMDAs yet to submit their 1st draft DMTDPs, as well as those to submit their revised DMTDPs are to do so by the close of the day, Friday, July 15, 2022.
