Suspended Takoradi MCE hopeful truth surrounding his court case would prevail in due time

Mr Abdul Issah-Mumin, the suspended Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Chief Executive has released his first press statement following his court case .

According to the statement released on Friday, February 4, the MCE noted that he is determined to cooperate with the police administration for successful prosecution and determination of the case.

This comes after the suspended MCE was arrested on Thursday, February 3, for an alleged motor traffic offence, verbal assault and offensive conduct against a police officer who was performing his lawful duty.

Further information which led to his arrest states that he was driving a Nissan Patrol vehicle with registration number GE 5615 – 20 and is alleged to have driven dangerously and carelessly while approaching a police checkpoint at the Kwesimintsim Cemetery on Wednesday, February 2, 2022.

This was after one of the police officers tried to stop him which he verbally assaulted and threatened him.

He was arraigned before the court on Friday, February 4, and the case presided over by His Honour Mr Michael Ampadu granted him a GHS100,000 bail with three sureties after being charged.

However, the MCE also in his letter stated “I am convinced that in the fullness of time, the real truth surrounding the unfortunate incident will prevail.
