Serwaa Amihere apologizes for the recent viral intimate video
Media personality Serwaa Amihere has publicly apologized for the intimate video that circulated online a few weeks ago.
The explicit video, involving Serwaa Amihere and a person named Henry Fritz, was leaked on April 2 and widely shared on social media.
On April 8, three individuals, including Fritz, were charged for allegedly disseminating the video online. Despite Serwaa Amihere reportedly paying a ransom of GH¢20,000 to prevent the video’s release, the accused proceeded to share it on social media platforms.
However, despite receiving the ransom, the accused individuals proceeded to share the video on social media.
The charges against the three include conspiracy to distribute intimate images without consent, violating Section 23(1) of the Criminal Offences Act 1960 (Act 29), and Section 67(1)(2) of the Cybersecurity Act 2020 (Act 1038).
In her statement posted on social media, Serwaa Amihere revealed that she had been extorted five months prior to the leak and had collaborated with law enforcement in efforts to apprehend the perpetrators.
She expressed regret for the incident, emphasizing that the recorded footage was from five years ago and has caused her significant embarrassment and disappointment.
“Sincerely, I say sorry for the embarrassment, disappointment, and frustration that this matter has caused to my family and loved ones, to the distinguished businesses and brands I represent, and to you,” she expressed.
