Sudan war: United Nations raises alarm over child deaths in refugee camps

At least 1,200 children have died in refugee camps in Sudan since May as a result of measles and malnutrition, according to UN children’s agency (UNICEF).

It says that thousands more people, including newborns, are t risk of death before the e end of the year.

Every month in Sudan, more than 50,000  children need to be treated for the deadliest type of malnutrition.

Unicef, however, claims that a number of feeding centers had to close as a result of the war.

Many of the children who are dying in refugee camps, according to the UN agency for refugees, have been displaced by wars in South Sudan and Ethiopia.
