A group of young politicians from various parts of the country, who had previously left the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to join Alan Kyerematen’s Movement for Change, have announced their return to the NPP.

Led by former NPP parliamentary candidate aspirant for Adentan, Alfred Ababio Kumi, the group admitted their mistake in leaving the New Patriotic Party and publicly declared their renewed support for the NPP flagbearer.

During a press conference in Accra, Ababio Kumi acknowledged their error and expressed their commitment to working towards reversing or averting its adverse effects.

He cited Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s speech on February 7, 2024, as a catalyst for their introspection regarding the future of Ghana and the aspirations of young people.

Meanwhile, the Nationwide Supporters of Alan Cash (NAWSAC) strongly criticized the New Patriotic Party for allegedly trying to bribe youth into abandoning their support for Alan Kyerematen’s Movement for Change and joining the NPP.

In a statement issued on Monday, April 22, 2024, NAWSAC voiced concern over the NPP’s alleged covert tactics and urged young people not to be influenced by financial incentives.

The group’s convener, Luther-King Junior, emphasized that youth are disillusioned with both the NPP and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) due to their manipulative actions and are steadfast in their support for Alan Kyerematen’s leadership.
