Joy at Sekondi Central Prisons As Focus 1 Group Spreads Love On Valentine’s Day

It was full of joy at the Sekondi Central Prisons as the Focus 1 Group treated inmates with assorted items, including cartons of drinks, food packs, sachets, and bottled water, amongst other essentials.

This gesture forms part of annual donations spearheaded by the Adu Mante Foundation every Valentine’s Day.

Valentine’s Day is when people show their affection for others by sending gifts and items with love.

The over 800 inmates were feted by the staff and management of FOCUS 1 Group as they spent some time with them.

There was a bar of chocolate for both male and female inmates, as well as the prison officers.

The Executive Director of Focus 1 Group, Madam Evelyn Adu-Mante, explains the rationale behind the donation.

“As the world celebrates the season of love today and Spice FM, one of our radio stations, celebrates its 11th anniversary, we are here to express our love to the brothers and sisters of Sekondi Prisons,”

“As we have been doing for the past 15 years, this year is no exception, as we come with a home-cooked hot meal, water, drinks, and chocolate to dine with over 800 of you here.”

A cash donation of 20,000 Ghana cedis was presented to help build an infirmary to cater for the health needs of the inmates.

The Executive Director said, “Because your health is important to us, we are also donating a cheque for 20,000 cedis to help build your infirmary. The foundation expects that the donation helps facilitate your infirmary by providing adequate health care to the inmates.”

The Adu Mante Foundation is a non-charitable foundation that aims to advance change in society, and Ghana as a whole. The foundation primarily seeks to provide a certain number of people with access to basic needs such as clean water, health care, and education.
