After more than a decade of anticipation, the long-awaited trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI has finally emerged.

It is set in a Vice City reminiscent of Miami, focusing on the tale of love and crime involving protagonist Lucia and an unnamed male.

Rockstar released the trailer earlier than planned, responding to an online leak. The teaser hints at a 2025 launch, leaving eager fans still awaiting the game’s release.

As the sequel to the immensely successful GTA V from 2013, which stands as the second best-selling video game after Minecraft, GTA VI has been the subject of continuous rumors and leaks for years.

The mere confirmation of an upcoming trailer triggered global headlines in November, reflecting the intense anticipation among fans for any tidbit about the new game.

Initially developed in Dundee in 1997 by DMA Design, later known as Rockstar, the GTA series has enjoyed both critical acclaim and controversy, with even the House of Lords questioning the first game’s violent content.

The recently revealed trailer showcases car races, boat parties, and intriguing scenes, all set to Tom Petty’s “Love is a Long Road.”

James Binns, chairman of gaming media firm Network N, attributed the delay in the game’s arrival to the monumental success of GTA V, particularly its thriving online component, GTA Online, which maintains top positions in play charts for Xbox, PlayStation, and PC.

Binns emphasized the unprecedented scale and budget for GTA VI, suggesting it could be the most expensive game ever developed. Rockstar’s president, Sam Houser, previously mentioned that the December trailer release coincided with the series’ 25th anniversary.

In addition, Rockstar announced a partnership with Netflix, bringing cherished titles like GTA 3, Vice City, and San Andreas to Netflix’s gaming offering for mobile devices on December 14.
