The Ghana Education Service (GES) has unveiled the roster of students eligible for enrollment in Senior High Schools and Technical and Vocational Education and Training Schools (TVET) this year.

This announcement follows the utilization of the Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) for candidates who undertook the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in 2023.

In a statement released on Tuesday, the GES revealed that out of the 598,839 results received from WAEC, 585,797 candidates met the criteria for placement.

The statement noted, “A total of 477,772 (81.56%) have been automatically placed in one of their choices,” showcasing a noteworthy improvement compared to the previous year, with over 100,000 more students successfully placed.

However, the statement highlighted that 108,025 (18.44%) qualified candidates couldn’t be matched with any of their preferred choices. Consequently, the GES encouraged these students to engage in self-placement to select from the available schools.
