We Stand To Lose In 2024 Elections In The Western Region If…. Chairman Ndede Siah

The Western Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Francis Ndede Siah, has cautioned about severe repercussions for the ruling party in the upcoming 2024 general elections.

He mentioned that the party is at risk of losing the region unless the inadequate road networks are addressed before the elections.

He stated in an interview that road development has been neglected in the constituency, but the specific situation in Jomoro is particularly disheartening.

“Even in my own constituency, Jomoro, if they are not able to come and fix the road, I will hardly be able to go there. I am going to campaign. I have nothing to say and there is nothing to show.

“I cannot go there and stand on a platform, and no presidential aspirant can come here for me to lead him to that constituency,” he said.

When comparing the constituency to others in the region, Mr Siah observed that Jomoro, despite being a significant contributor to natural resources, appears to have been overlooked in favour of the others.

The regional chairman stated that all his efforts to bring his concerns to the attention of the government have fallen on deaf ears. He emphasized that if the plea is not heeded, the party faces the risk of losing the 2024 presidential election.

“It is very difficult, just about 18 to 20 kilometres road, the GNPC and Ghana Gas, when you come to the area the oil and gas are all coming from Jomoro, but the factory has been built in Ellembelle.

“The supply of the needed raw materials is from Jomoro. Compare Jomoro and Ellembelle in terms of development. Jomoro is not near Ellemebelle, as if we don’t matter. No, you can’t eat your cake and have it.”
