Speaking at the Ghana Mining Vision event at the University of Energy and Natural Resources in Sunyani on May 8, 2024, Dr. Bawumia emphasized that the fight against galamsey remains ongoing and requires the collective concern of all Ghanaians.
He pledged the government’s commitment to prioritizing sustainable solutions for Ghana’s natural resources and environment, aiming for a resilient small-scale mining sector with global admiration.
Dr. Bawumia underscored the necessity for cooperation among government agencies, mining companies, communities, and citizens to effectively address the challenges posed by illegal mining and ensure the sustainable development of Ghana’s mining sector.
