GHS Receives Donation of Weighing Scales from CHPS Coordinator

Ms. Fabiola Tizala, the Regional CHPS Coordinator for the Western Region, has contributed to healthcare delivery by donating 70 adult weighing scales to the Ghana Health Service (GHS) in the Western Region.

According to her, the donation is her modest way of assisting the GHS.

She successfully gathered support from friends and family members to acquire these items, raising a total of GH7,000. Miss. Tizala, a health planner by profession and a businesswoman, shared that her motivation to purchase the scales stemmed from her visits to CHPS facilities during supportive supervision and monitoring, where she observed the absence of such essential items.

“I spoke with a few of my friends to help me buy these scales when I was ordering my items for sale, and thankfully I had positive feedback from some of them, and the rest is what we’re seeing”, she said.

Given that it was a crucial yet absent necessity in many CHPS facilities, she took it upon herself to address the shortfall.

The items, nonetheless, have been transported to the Western Regional Medical Stores for appropriate allocation to different CHPS facilities.

Miss Tizala was commended by the Deputy Director General of GHS in the region, Dr. Anthony Adofo Fosu, for this great initiative as part of his 3-day-working visit to the area and encouraged others to emulate this thoughtful gesture.
