Bawumia asserts that Ghana does not require intervention from NDC

Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia stressed that Ghana doesn’t need rescuing from John Dramani Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) because the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government has already saved the country.

In an interview, Bawumia found the NDC’s “Rescue Ghana Mission” slogan confusing, noting that Ghana was rescued in 2017 when the NPP took charge.

He reminded everyone that the NDC sought an IMF bailout in 2015 due to economic mismanagement.

According to Bawumia,

“We have rescued the country and this economy from the mismanagement of John Mahama,” he said. “Now you don’t understand what they mean by coming to the rescue; we have rescued the country already, and we are now building upon that.”

He highlighted NPP achievements such as the Free SHS program, Planting for Food and Jobs, restoring nurses’ allowances, and implementing the Nation Builders’ Corps (NABCO).

He also claimed that since 2017, the NPP government has reduced suffering in Ghana, especially through Free Senior High School, which saves parents 2.2 billion Ghana cedis.
