Alhassan Yakubu believes Bawumia can secure significant support in Akan areas

Alhaji Malik Alhassan Yakubu, the former Interior Minister, has addressed concerns about Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer, struggling to gain support in traditional Akan regions, despite coming from the Northern Region.

In an interview, Alhaji Malik Alhassan Yakubu highlighted that Dr. Bawumia’s performance in areas like the Ashanti Region proves his ability to secure votes and lead the party to victory in the 2024 elections.

Alhaji Yakubu emphasized that the recent voting patterns across the country, including traditionally strongholds like Ashanti, indicate widespread support for Dr. Bawumia.

He expressed confidence that Dr. Bawumia could attract significant votes from Akan regions and other areas, dispelling concerns about his regional background affecting his electoral prospects.
