Megan Thee Stallion has reportedly resolved a protracted legal dispute with her former record label, 1501 Certified Entertainment.

The rapper initiated legal action against the label in 2020, alleging that they were obstructing her from releasing music.

However, they have now decided to part ways amicably, reaching a confidential settlement to address their legal differences.

The details of the settlement have not been disclosed.

Label chief Carl Crawford expressed his best wishes for Megan’s life and career in a statement.

In 2020, the artist revealed in an Instagram Live session that she was initially unaware of the contents of her contract when she first signed it, explaining that she was young at the time.

In 2021, Megan filed another lawsuit against 1501 over a disagreement regarding the classification of her 2021 release, “Something For Thee Hotties,” which the label classified as a mixtape.

In response, 1501 countersued, alleging that Megan had repeatedly breached her contracts.

Recently, Megan hinted that she is functioning as an independent artist and expressed her reluctance to sign with a new label at the moment.

She emphasized that she is funding her projects herself, marking the first time she is operating independently since she was working with her mother.

Megan expressed her excitement about the independent approach and stated that it’s “just me until we sign to a new label.”
