Current Wrangling In The Top Hierarchy Of The Police Service Due To Politicization – Security Analyst Blames
A Security Expert, Dr. Franklin Kwasi Binney, says the actions of some Police Officers are out of place.
According to him, Police officers should have the appropriate channel to address their grievances.
Speaking on the back of the leaked tape against the IGP on Spice FM, he says it is uncomfortable as their conduct leads to a threat to the security of the country.
He says it was wrong for the security personnel to go on the tangent of plotting to have the Inspector General of Police removed.
He mentions that the Constitution mandates the Police to ensure peace, order, and law enforcement. In view of this, he says such misconduct should not be witnessed.
Dr. Binney touched on the politicization of successive governments in the security institutions, which according to him, brings about such consequences.
He, however, commended Parliament for setting up the Special committee to investigate and address the issue.
Dr Biney also called on individuals especially Politicians to allow the laws of the land to work and not to meddle in the affairs of other agencies.
