Tuesday, June 6, 2023 saw the swearing-in of Ernest Yaw Anim as the representative for the Kumawu constituency by Speaker of the House Alban Bagbin.
Following a by-election held on May 23, 2023, the Electoral Commission certified Anim as the victor, with 15,264 votes, as the MP for Kumawu.
After Philip Basoah, the previous MP for Kumawu, passed away, Anim was elected to fill his position.
The Speaker delivered the oath of allegiance, which he took.
“Congratulations, Honourable Member. You are now duly sworn in as the Member of Parliament for the Kumawu constituency,” the Speaker said.
The Speaker was thanked by the elected MP.
Ernest Anim received 15,264 votes in the by-election on May 23, 2023, defeating Kwasi Amankwaa, a candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), and two independents, both named Kwaku Duah.
