In a media interview, some members of the community reckon that their lives have not been the same as their livelihoods were lost in the unfortunate incident.

“Everything is going on well for us. We’ve run out of foodstuff, and we don’t have any livelihood to depend on. We ask for the support of the public.”

“I’m going through hardship here. I have five children, and all of them are in school. Things are tough for me. I engage in petty trading to look after my family. My husband is unemployed too.

I became hopeless after the incident. I didn’t think of getting a place to lay my head but with the support of government and the Red Cross, we have a place to rest our heads.”

I sell kenkey with support from the authorities. They gave me the equipment to start this kenkey business.”
