Food and Beverages Association To Halt Business Operations Effective, Wednesday October 19

Members within the retail sector of the Food and Beverage Association of Ghana (FABAG) will join GUTA to close businesses effective Wednesday, October 19, 2022.

According to the FABAG, the action has become necessary as government has failed to address issues affecting their business.

In a news release, the group pointed out that their businesses have accumulated losses through some unfriendly policies implemented by the government.

They mentioned rapid depreciation of the cedi, interest rate on borrowing, high taxes, nuisance levies on import duties, high petroleum costs and taxes and current challenges with E-VAT as some factors affecting their businesses.

The statement adds that all efforts to engage government to remedy the situation have yielded no results.
