Oliver Barker-Vormawor back in Court to secure bail

The Tema High Court is expected to consider the bail application of #FixTheCountry Movement Lead Convener, Oliver Barker-Vormawor Monday, March 14, 2022.

The application was initially set to be heard last Thursday, March 10, 2022, however, a late opposition to the bail application by the Attorney-General’s Office made it impossible for his lawyers to bail him.

On the issue of the defendant not having a fixed abode, Mr. Barker-Vormawor’s Lawyer argued with documents that showed that he had a fixed place of residence.

His lawyer indicated to the Court that Oliver had taken the Police to his residence where intrusive searches were carried out.

The Attorney-General, Mr Godfred Yeboah Dame has opposed the grant of bail to #FixTheCountry Convener Mr OliverOliver Barker-Vormawor.

At the Tema High Court on Thursday, March 10, 2022, the A-G said Mr. Barker-Vormawor has so far failed to cooperate with Police investigations and also has no fixed place of abode, which makes him a flight risk.

The #FixTheCountry Convenor is facing the charge of treason felony over alleged coup comments made on social media.

He has been on remand since February 11, 2022, when he was arrested at the Kotoka International Airport.

Meanwhile, the substantive matter before the Circuit Court in Ashaiman will be heard on March 15, 2022.
