Information reaching beachfmonline has it that the flagbearer of the main opposition party National Democratic Congress (NDC), Ex-President John Mahama has suspended his ongoing campaign in the Ashanti Region following the sudden demise of Ex-President John Jerry Rawlings which occurred Thursday morning at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.
According to a source close to Mr Mahama, the sad news of the demise of the party’s Founder got to him when the campaign team reached Obuasi as part of a six-day campaign.
The NDC presidential candidate for the 2020 elections started the six-day campaign on Tuesday and was expected to end the campaign on Sunday 15th November,2020.
However, the team ended the campaign abruptly and retreated to Accra to empathize with the family.
