Western Region Football Clubs Should Take Their Marketing Serious – Western Region Minister
Western Regional Minister, Hon Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah has advised football clubs in the Western Region to make marketing their topmost priority.
The newly elected Western Region Football Chairman, Simon Ehomah visited the Western Regional Minister at his office yesterday to talk about football development in the region and the country at large.
The Member of Parliament for Takoradi Constituency used the opportunity to advise the various clubs in the region to prioritized marketing and also stressed that raising funds for football is very difficult but when managed well, it will attract people to come in and support them.
“Football teams should also take their marketing very serious, they don’t market, anything I say, I don’t say it in the contest of the whole Ghana, I say it in the contest of the one we can manage here in the Western Region”
“As for football in the western region, the chairman of the regional football association and the chairman of the Western Region Sports Committee and the other teams should be able to fix football in the Western Region. Yes we have talked about colts; getting new players from there, we have prepared, we have told all the districts to set up their teams so that they can organize colts’ tournaments” he said.
“Raising funds is a problem that we all know, which doesn’t mean we should lose hats, we should continue, when people know that you are making things attractive, they will come and supports” he added.
