FOUR LOCAL PLAYERS MAKE C.K AKONNOR'S BLACK STARS SQUAD FOR SUDAN TIES

C.K Akonnor has named his first-ever Black Stars team after taking over the job from James Kwesi Appiah.

Akonnor has included four players, who currently play in the Ghana Premier League, in his 23-man squad for the AFCON 2021 qualifiers against Sudan.

With 10 goals so far this season – a tally that puts him second on the top goal scorers list – Aduana Stars, striker Mohammed Yahaya has been rewarded for his efforts with a call-up.

Accra Hearts of Oak goalkeeper, Richard Attah has also been handed his first Black Stars call-up ahead of Felix Annan of Kumasi Asante Kotoko.

Richard Attah has made 10 appearances in the league this season in a Hearts side that has conceded just twice in their last five matches. keeping four clean sheets in that period.

Habib Mohammed has played seven times in the Ghana Premier League this season for Asante Kotoko who have only conceded seven goals so far.

Kwadwo Amoako has featured in 11 of AshGold’s 12 games in the league this season and is part of a side that, until their 6-1 loss at WAFA last weekend, had only let in two goals all season.

Ghana has a double African Cup of Nations Qualifier with Sudan with the first leg set to be played in Cape Coast on March 27, 2020.
