Actors Ingrid Alabi and Peter Richie were among many who nearly fell as victims of first of several furnace-like explosions that turned heads of Accra last Saturday evening, October 7.
Ingrid Alabi and Peter Richie who starred in “Adam the Eve” returning from Eastern Region’s capital Koforidua with Chief Executive Officer of Minalyn Touch Makeover, makeup artist, Mina Lawani just escaped the explosive-furnace with their heart in their hand as over hundred, including a Kelewele seller and a Khebab seller caught up heavily in the explosion.
The two Ghanaian actors including the makeup artist arrived in Accra after arrangements in Koforidua to premiere “Adam the Eve” come Saturday, October 14 at Mac-Dic Royal Plaza Hotel.
CEO of Minalyn Touch Makeover described their ordeal and disclosed that they alighted, leaving their cars behind on the Madina-Adenta road and run to save their lives from furnace-like heat the explosion blew in the air.
From her narration, not only them, but many drivers had their cars parked and took to their heels away from the explosion. She continued that she fell countlessly, but fought to leave the scene.
Mina and Ingrid Alabi, producer of ‘Adam The Eve’ movie incurred minor injuries when scurrying away from the scene.
Manager of Mansco Gas Filling Station, George Owusu says the fatal explosion was sparked by an unnamed grilled meat [Khebab] seller close to his depot.
The gas explosion at Atomic Junction in Accra has so far claimed at least seven lives and injured more than 132 people, according to official estimation.
More than 20 vehicles and other properties were also consumed by the raging fire.
