NPP Opens Nominations For Orphan Constituencies

The NPP has announced the beginning of nominations for primaries for Parliamentary Primaries in districts where the Party is not represented in the House.

The decision was adopted during the Party’s National Executive Committee, NEC, and National Council meetings held on Monday, April 3, according to a statement by Justin Kodua Frimpong, the general secretary of the party.

Elections are scheduled to take place from Saturday, September 23, to Saturday, December 2, 2023, with the nomination period opening on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, and closing on Thursday, August 10, 2023.

The statement continues by saying that the Party has created comprehensive Rules and Regulations to guide the organization of the Parliamentary Primaries, which will be made available to stakeholders. Nomination Forms may be received for a three thousand cedis non-refundable application fee paid by bankers draft made payable to the NPP National Headquarters in Accra.

The Party stated that if an aspirant candidate for parliament is denied access to the nomination form at the constituency level, he or she may purchase it from the regional or national secretariat by filing an appeal or download it for a fee from the Party’s website, www.newpatrioticparty.org.

The Party continues by stating that to properly file a nomination, a prospective Parliamentary Candidate must submit a non-refundable filing fee of 35,000 Cedis in the form of a banker’s draft payable to the NPP National Headquarters, Accra.
