Another final-year student of KNUST passes away
The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has announced the death of another final-year student, Bertha Kookale Hammond.
Kookale Hammond, a final-year English student at the University, was announced dead on Sunday, March 9, 2025.
The cause of her death remains unknown, but this comes weeks ago after the tragic death of a fourth-year Biological Sciences student, Joana Deladem Yabani.
Deladem Yabani’s lifeless body was discovered near the KNUST Disability and Rehabilitation Centre at approximately 5:00 a.m. on February 27, 2025, after the KNUST Security Services received a report on the incident.
Upon confirming her death, the university promptly transported the body to the University Health Services for further examination.
The death of Kookale Hammond has sparked discussions in the media space, with some Ghanaians calling on the institution to put down measures to curtail issues like this.
