Freddie Blay condemns the Deputy Minority Leader’s speech

Former National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Freddie Blay, has expressed strong disagreement with the manner in which Deputy Minority Leader Armah-Kofi Buah addressed President Akuffo Addo during the final State of the Nation Address.

Hon. Blay further mentioned that he would not permit his newspapers to discuss former President John Mahama in the same manner as Buah spoke about President Akufo Addo.

He strongly disagreed with Buah’s remarks and suggested that Buah’s behavior could have stemmed from either mischief or ignorance of the President’s speech.

“I wouldn’t have my newspapers talk about John Mahama the way Armah-Kofi Buah addressed the president, I disagree with Armah-Kofi Buah and I don’t think what he said was right”.

Blay also pointed out that if the government were truly as corrupt as Buah suggested, some Members of Parliament could have been imprisoned.

With his extensive experience as both a politician and a lawyer, Blay’s remarks carry considerable authority, having served multiple terms in Parliament while representing the Ellembelle Constituency in the Western Region.

He made these statements during a discussion about the aftermath of the election on the GTV’s Breakfast Show on Monday, January 6, 2025.
