Joseph Cudjoe highlights Bawumia’s free kidney dialysis initiative as key to Ghana’s transformative development

The National Coordinator of Identifiable Groups for the Bawumia Campaign, Joseph Cudjoe, says the upcoming provision of free kidney dialysis demonstrates Dr. Bawumia’s unwavering commitment to addressing the daily and pressing needs of Ghanaians.

He, therefore, urges Ghanaians to vote massively for Dr. Bawumia on December 7, as it is evident that “this initiative” and others will be the “transformative formula” needed for the holistic development the country yearns for.

While campaigning in the Old Tafo Constituency of the Ashanti Region, Dr. Bawumia announced that kidney dialysis will be provided free of charge for all patients under the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) from December 1.

According to Joseph Cudjoe, the intervention was borne out of a meeting with the Ghana Medical Association.

“One major concern raised was kidney dialysis treatment. So it was immediately included in the Bawumia Manifesto… and even before he is elected, he has started implementing what’s in the manifesto. So the free dialysis is an answer to a challenge identified, and more will follow.”

At a meeting with some identified groups at the Takoradi Technical University in the Western Region, Joseph Cudjoe explained that the “Bold Solutions Manifesto is a collection of answers tailored specifically to address the demands of every sector of the economy.”

“So if you are a teacher, a tailor, an artisan, or whatever profession, you need to vote for Dr. Bawumia and the NPP party because what you need to change your life fortunes will become a reality with a Bawumia/NAPO government.”

Western Region Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Francis Ndede Siah, argued that despite the “ravages of COVID-19,” the government has been able to bring relief in “many forms” to Ghanaians and therefore deserves to be retained.

“Look at what we have done with our education. Free education has become the one thing that saved the majority of our youth from becoming illiterate, deviants, and incapable of reaching their goals.”

He admitted that the government has not been able to “fulfill all” it promised but boasted that it has delivered “more than 80 percent of its manifesto pledges,” a feat he says makes the NPP government “unique and deserving of being retained in power.”
