Ghana’s Parliament is scheduled to begin the fifth meeting of its fourth session on October 15, 2024, at the Dome of the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC).
The temporary relocation is due to ongoing renovations in the main chamber of Parliament, its usual venue.
In a statement released on Monday, September 30, Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, notified Members of Parliament (MPs) of the upcoming reconvening. The session, part of the legislative calendar, is expected to address significant national issues.
During a recent emergency sitting at the Dome (AICC), Parliament approved a $250 million loan from the World Bank to support Ghana’s Energy Sector Recovery Programme.
The approval, previously rejected before the recess, was a key agenda item that prompted the emergency session on September 3. This financial aid is intended to bolster the country’s efforts in reviving its energy sector.
