Energy Commission Urges All Electricians to Obtain Professional Certification for Safety and Compliance

The Energy Commission is reiterating calls on all electricians across the country to attend professional certification from the Commission before engaging in their work.

This is a requirement by law aimed at safeguarding lives and property by ensuring that only qualified individuals are involved in electrical wiring and installation.

In an interview with the Senior Officer of the Electricity and Natural Gas Directorate of the Energy Commission, John Nillimor Bukari empathized with the importance of certification in ensuring safety and adherence to standards within the electrical industry.

“The message I have for all electricians in the country is that, it is the law that says that you should get certified. It is the law that says, that come and prove that indeed you can do the work for mother Ghana,”

” We will entreat them that you should all come on board and get certified. We don’t have the law to catch anyone because we know that, that is your livelihood. Most electricians are the breadwinners of their families. We don’t want to take any punitive action against them, so we just plead with them to make sure they get certified. We have regional offices in Takoradi, Tamale, Kumasi and Accra. Visit any of them to know how to get certified, ” Mr. Bukari said.
