Western Region Set To Recieve DRIP Equipment To Boost Road Infrastructure

The Western Region is set to receive 110 pieces of road improvement equipment as part of the District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP) to address infrastructure challenges.

The equipment includes bulldozers, wheel loaders, concrete mixers, low beds, motor graders, water tankers, tipper trucks, backhoes, and rollers.

At the launch of the construction equipment for Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies (MMDAs) in Apremdo, near Takoradi, Western Regional Minister Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah emphasized that the President’s vision extends beyond road construction.

He stated, “DRIP aims to create a connected and thriving Ghana, ensuring that every district, no matter how remote, experiences progress. This initiative is designed to advance and enrich local communities.”

Minister Darko-Mensah highlighted that DRIP represents the largest investment ever made in the Local Government Sector, with nearly 1,500 pieces of equipment allocated to MMDAs nationwide.

He noted, “This investment clearly demonstrates the government’s commitment to enhancing local infrastructure by equipping Local Authorities with the necessary tools to drive meaningful change in their communities.”
