Ablakwa urges publication of public land list
The Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has called on the Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, Samuel A. Jinapor, to swiftly release a comprehensive list of all public lands in the country.
This demand follows a press conference held by the Lands Minister on Wednesday, August 14, where he refuted allegations that the government is leasing state lands to favored individuals.
The Minister challenged critics to provide evidence to back their claims.
In an interview with Citi News, Ablakwa maintained that the government is unlawfully leasing state lands to its affiliates.
He criticized the current administration for failing to fulfill a previous commitment to compile and publish a list of public lands, as promised by the former Lands Minister in Parliament.
Ablakwa pointed out that the Lands Commission had admitted under oath that public lands are being sold as private property, describing the situation as a “total mess.”
He urged the Minister to go beyond issuing directives and to prioritize the publication of a comprehensive list of all public lands.
