Minority in Parliament Criticizes Security Services Recruitment, Accuses Government of Favoritism
The Minority in Parliament has expressed its displeasure at the advertised recruitment into the security services under the Ministry for the Interior.
The group recently petitioned the Commission for Human Rights and Administrative Justice, CHRAJ, complaining about the recruitment based on a purported backlog.
The Minority, in a statement, alleges that there is no such backlog and accused the government of attempting to use the exercise to recruit party people.
The Minority said, it is not against the recruitment of the youth into the security services but only wants to ensure there is equal access and opportunities for all citizens.
The Ranking Member of the Defence and Interior Committee of Parliament, James Agalga urged the Peace Council and Civil Society Groups to make their views known on the issues to avoid anything that can disturb the country’s peace.
