Fred Nuamah, a prominent actor, movie producer, and aspiring parliamentary candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Ayawaso West-Wuogon constituency, has officially withdrawn from the race.

In a letter addressed to the party’s General Secretary, Nuamah expressed that his decision was entirely personal and arrived at after extensive consultations with key stakeholders, without any external influence. He emphasized his belief in the necessity for the NDC to present a united front in preparation for the upcoming 2024 general elections, which motivated his choice.

“I am writing to formally notify the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) about my decision to withdraw from the Ayawaso West-Wuogon NDC parliamentary primaries. This decision was personal and was made after extensive consultations with key stakeholders, without any external influence,” he said in the letter dated August 7.

As a committed party member, Nuamah stressed his commitment to the NDC’s unity and the overarching goal of the John Dramani Mahama project aimed at rejuvenating Ghana.

Following his withdrawal, Nuamah has enthusiastically endorsed and thrown his support behind his close associate, John Dumelo, as the preferred parliamentary candidate for the NDC in the Ayawaso West-Wuogon constituency.

Nuamah urged his supporters at all levels within the constituency’s party structure to rally behind Dumelo and provide him with the necessary backing. He conveyed the belief that, with a revitalized sense of unity, they can secure triumph in the 2024 elections and work towards uplifting Ghana from its current circumstances.

Nuamah concluded by extending sincere gratitude to his numerous supporters at the grassroots level, ranging from branches to wards and constituencies, for their unwavering dedication, support, and affection. He cherished their interactions and admired the grassroots enthusiasm in their shared mission of seeing the NDC and former President John Mahama regain political power to enhance the lives of the Ghanaian populace.

It’s noteworthy that John Dumelo, a popular actor and TV personality, contested in the Ayawaso West-Wuogon constituency during the last general elections.

Although the NDC has already conducted its parliamentary primaries nationwide, a few constituencies, including Ayawaso West-Wuogon, were exceptions and had their primaries put on hold.
