Assin North MP Gyakye Quayson confident of re-election in 2024

James Gyakye Quayson, Member of Parliament for Assin North, has expressed confidence that his constituents will renew his mandate in the upcoming 2024 elections.

Quayson, who previously faced legal challenges due to his dual citizenship of Canada and Ghana, had his eligibility to hold office questioned in 2020.

Despite this, he successfully contested a by-election after his seat was declared vacant and regained his position as MP.

In light of these challenges, Quayson has initiated several developmental projects in Assin North, aiming to give back to the community and secure their support in the next election.

Speaking after a visit from NDC running mate Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang to the constituency as part of her Central Region tour, Quayson emphasized his commitment to development and justice.

Quayson highlighted his recent work on the Tweanka Bridge, a major infrastructure project leading to Assin Breko, as an example of his dedication to improving the area.

He assured constituents that he would continue to leverage every available resource to complete ongoing projects.

Expressing optimism about his re-election prospects, Gyakye stated that the people of Assin North appreciate his efforts and resilience, and he is determined to continue fighting for their development and well-being.
