EC to brief parliament on 2024 general elections preparations
The Electoral Commission (EC) will appear before Parliament on Friday, July 19, 2024, to update members on its preparations for the upcoming 2024 General Elections.
This briefing, to be held in the parliamentary chamber, follows a request from members to assess the electoral body’s readiness for the polls.
During proceedings on Thursday, July 18, the Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Andrew Asiamah Amoako, announced the upcoming session, emphasizing its importance.
“We will be meeting the Electoral Commission at our instance to have them brief us on their preparations for the 2024 elections. If you have any issues relating to the EC, just come and ask respectfully; it’s not going to be a banter,” Amoako stated.
Ghana is set to hold its presidential and parliamentary elections on December 7.
