Ebenezer Oklitey Teye Larbi, the MP for Lower Manya Krobo, has voiced concerns over the perceived lack of commitment from the Majority Caucus in Parliament.
He criticized many Majority members for prioritizing campaign activities for NPP flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia over parliamentary business.
Speaking in Parliament on Wednesday, June 19, Teye Larbi highlighted that this behavior demotivates the Minority Caucus.
“It reflects poorly on our image. It seems like we are not serious here. If the government has no business for us, we should adjourn sine die and continue our work elsewhere. Many of our colleagues are busy campaigning with the vice president. We also need to campaign. We cannot be here handling government business while they campaign.
“We also want to support our flagbearer. It’s a fact that some colleagues are with the vice president, which is why they are absent. If it’s about the campaign, let’s adjourn sine die so we can all participate, as they are not showing commitment to parliamentary duties,” he stated.
