Four staff from Somé Senior High School have been remanded
Four employees of Somé Senior High School in the Ketu South Municipality have been remanded into police custody by the Circuit Court at Tokor.
They have pleaded not guilty to charges of theft. The accused include the Assistant Headmistress in charge of academics in the school, the Bursar, the Matron, and the storekeeper.
They were arraigned for allegedly stealing food items meant for students on May 27.
The Ghana Education Service (GES) has interdicted the Bursar, the storekeeper, and the Matron, and has formed a committee to investigate the matter within two weeks.
Additionally, the GES has suspended the officials—Richard Ametorxe (Bursar), Yorm Dzikumu (Matron), and Alex Obuadi (Storekeeper)—with immediate effect.
The investigation was initiated following a search conducted by alumni and the assembly member on May 24, which uncovered food items, cleaning agents, and insecticide spray in the Matron’s possession.
