CODEO urges EC to adjust schedule for remote voter inclusion in current registration
CODEO has urged the Electoral Commission (EC) to show flexibility in its registration schedule to include eligible voters in remote areas.
Despite calls for an extension, the EC announced that the exercise will conclude on Monday, May 27.
Gildfred Asiamah Boateng, a CODEO member, proposed setting up additional registration stations in densely populated areas to ensure all eligible voters have the opportunity to register.
Boateng emphasized the importance of accommodating those in remote areas, suggesting the dispatch of registration teams to such locations even as the deadline approaches.
He highlighted concerns about areas like Saltpond with consistently high registration numbers, urging the Electoral Commission to increase registration stations to address any backlog and ensure fair access for all eligible voters.
