EC says it has enforced stringent measures to avert data errors during voter registration

Samuel Tettey, the Deputy Commissioner overseeing Operations at the Electoral Commission (EC), has announced the commission’s restructuring of its team responsible for crafting infographics.

He emphasized that the EC has adopted stricter methods in creating infographics to ensure the accuracy of disseminated information. This decision follows the identification of errors in some figures released by the commission regarding registered voters.

During a press conference in Accra on Tuesday, Mr. Tettey stated, “the commission has since made changes to the team charged with the responsibility of preparing the infographics.”

“Additionally, we have put in place more rigorous methods in the preparation of the infographics to ensure that what is churned to the public is accurate.”

He also extended apologies to political parties, stakeholders, and the public for the errors in infographics published during the initial 11 days of the registration exercise.
