Kofi Jamar: Music Is Like a Seed; It Will Take Some Time for People to Vibe With

One of Ghana’s finest musicians from the stables of GADOne Records, Derrick Osei Kuffour Prempeh, popularly known as Kofi Jamar, is a Ghanaian musician from Kumasi. Kofi Jamar is from Bantama, in the Ashanti Region of Ghana.

His breakthrough was in the year 2020 with a hit song called “Ekorso,” which evolved from the viral Kumerica/Asaaka trend and features Yaw Tog and YPee.

In 2021, he was nominated in seven categories at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards but won none. Kofi Jamar has been in the limelight for the past eight years professionally in the music industry. 

His hit song, “Ekorso,” has been recorded in his resume or catalogue. He created this beautiful piece for the young lads in the streets without knowing it was going to blow and make a lot of numbers on all streaming platforms likewise. 

In an interview on the Compound House Show on Beach FM with host Kwartemaa Dickson, Kofi Jamar says, “Music is like a seed; it will take some time for people to vibe with it.” This comes after he explains his creative process in the hit song “Ekorso.”

Kofi Jamar has been doing the most lately by releasing an EP in the year 2020 entitled “The Truth EP” and subsequently some singles with features. He is promoting a new single titled “Wombom” (clap), featuring his fellow rappers Kofi Mole and Kwesi Amewuga.

He also indicated that the track was made last year (2023), had his verse and hook on it, and waited patiently to select the right people to be featured.
