The Electoral Commission (EC) has announced plans to update the voter register ahead of the December 2024 polls.
The exercise is set to run from May 7 to May 27, 2024. Its goal is to ensure that newly eligible voters who have turned 18 recently have the chance to be registered.
Moreover, individuals above 18 who haven’t registered for a voter’s ID card yet will also have the opportunity to do so during this period.
At a May Day Forum organized by Organized Labour, Samuel Tettey, Deputy Chair of Operations at the EC, emphasized the importance of eligible individuals participating in the registration process.
He highlighted the crucial role the voter register plays in ensuring the success and integrity of elections.
